This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes the practices of Hometab (“Hometab,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of personal information in connection with the Hometab mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Policy as well as our Terms of Service.

This Policy applies solely to individuals located in the United States of America. Hometab does not market to, or knowingly accept users from, jurisdictions outside of the United States.

  • Identity Information: Full legal name, date of birth, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.

  • Financial Information: Bank account credentials provided through secure third-party services such as Plaid, payroll account information provided through Argyle or Pinwheel, and other financial details relevant to verifying your eligibility.

  • Verification Documents: Government-issued identification, proof of address, and proof of income where required by applicable laws and for fraud prevention.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Transactional Data: Deposit activity, transaction history, spending behavior, and repayment activity.

  • Observation Period Data (30–45 Days): Spending patterns, overdraft activity, recurring payment consistency, and overall income stability.

  • Device and Technical Information: Internet Protocol (IP) address, device identifiers, operating system, browser type, and application usage metrics.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Plaid, Inc.: To securely connect and verify banking data.

  • Argyle Systems, Inc. or Pinwheel, Inc.: To confirm employment and payroll information.

  • Rent Reporting Partners: To facilitate optional rent payment reporting to credit bureaus, if you elect to participate.

3. Use of Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • Account Creation and Management: To establish your Hometab account, assess eligibility, and provide Services.

  • Verification and Risk Assessment: To confirm identity, verify income, and evaluate repayment capacity.

  • Repayment Administration: To align repayment schedules with your paycheck cycle and ensure service continuity.

  • Optional Credit Reporting: To transmit rent payment data to credit bureaus where you have opted in.

  • Fraud Detection and Compliance: To prevent misuse of the Services and comply with applicable U.S. regulations.

  • Product Development: To enhance underwriting methods, improve functionality, and deliver a better user experience.

4. Disclosure of Information

Hometab does not sell personal information. We may disclose information to:

  • Service Providers: Including Plaid, Argyle, Pinwheel, and third-party verification vendors.

  • Credit Bureaus: Solely for rent reporting, if you provide explicit consent.

  • Regulatory and Legal Authorities: To comply with legal obligations, subpoenas, or regulatory investigations.

  • Business Successors: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets involving Hometab.

5. Data Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption at rest and in transit, restricted access, and monitoring. However, no system of storage or transmission is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account remains active and as necessary to:

  • Provide Services;

  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations;

  • Resolve disputes; and

  • Enforce agreements.

7. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and Correction: You may access and update your information in the application.

  • Account Disconnection: You may disconnect bank or payroll accounts at any time, though doing so may suspend Services.

  • Opt-In Features: Participation in rent reporting and other optional features requires explicit consent.

  • Deletion: You may request deletion of your data by contacting support@hometabapp.com.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not intended for individuals under eighteen (18) years of age. Hometab does not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

9. Policy Updates

Hometab may revise this Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the application and/or your registered email address. Continued use of the Services following such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
